Terms of Sale
Thank you for your patronage!
We are so thankful you've selected Rogue Wind Farm for your next herd member! We take great pride in our animals, and the quality they can bring in to their next program. We make sure our pairings are intentional and truly strive to make deliberate improvements on each animal in our lines every year.
When choosing a RogueWind Nubian, you are also choosing a dedication to the health and wellbeing of your future herd member. You can be assured that your new family member will have been (or for kids, by parentage) tested clean for CAE, arrive tattooed and disbudded. Coccidiosis preventative is also given to kids starting at around 3 weeks of age until weaning, as needed. If discussed/desired, ADGA Registration Applications can be sent with any animals sold of breeding quality* to ADGA members; the buyer of new kids is responsible for all costs associated with registration, transfers and DNA testing of bucklings.
Every now and then, older bucks and does may also become available for sale, so please contact us if you are interested in any mature animals.
Kid Reservations
When you have chosen a kid from your desired pairing, a deposit will be required to hold them. Generally, this will be $50-$100 for on-farm pickups, depending on the animal; with the remaining balance due at or before time of pickup. (Paypal *Family & Friends* or Venmo are my current deposit options; unless you are local of course, where cash is always great!)
At this time we are only offering on-farm pickup; as well as meeting off-farm up to 2 hours away with additional travel fee. If we have discussed meeting at a location off the farm, the travel fee will need to be added on top of the deposit amount.
The discussed price of a kid is reflected upon them being picked up before 2 weeks of age. If you need or prefer a weaned kid- the price will be adjusted to the time and resources put into raising the animal until weaning.
Discussed pricings for reservations on animals before birth are just that; as a breeder I can choose to adjust price as see fits once a kid has been born and assessed; without prior deposits placed.
If you have placed a deposit on a kid, I will hold true to that price; unless a forfeiture has occurred, and the animal is now older, or quality has been reassessed.
Bottle baby pricings and weaned kids pricings will not be the same, please be sure to specify your preference at time of placing any deposits.
Refundable
Vs
Nonrefundable
Most deposits are nonrefundable*. This means you were unable to close on the sale; you decided to cancel/buy somewhere else; the kid wasn't the color you wanted; etc.
A refundable* deposit is one made before the birth of the kid from a chosen pairing. This strictly means that the gender of kid chosen was not born, available, or of the right quality. (i.e you reserved a doeling, and the mother only kidded bucklings; or you reserved a doeling and I chose to retain the only doeling born; or you reserved a breeding quality buck and I don't believe the buckling born would serve as such)
Pickup &
Forfeiture
Currently I am open to discussing what will work for everyone when it comes to pickup dates. More times than not, there is always someone on the farm to accommodate meeting for on-farm pickups.
Once a time period is locked in, you are responsible for maintaining that date. If something were to happen that pushes the pickup back, I will then begin adding a boarding fee of $10/day onto the final price of the animal.
If the animal isn't picked up within a month of the original pickup date, the animal and all deposits* will be considered forfeited and will be relisted for sale. If after this time you intend to purchase again, you will need to reestablish a new deposit, with the new minimum deposit being half the purchase price of the animal.
After Sale
Once any animal has left our property, it is a strict rule of our biosecurity measures that they cannot be returned. (At time of pickup you are responsible for making sure this is the animal you are wanting to purchase!)
We make sure that any animals leaving are of good health, and anything happening after time of departure is the responsibility of the new owner.
We also LOVE to have updates on our previous animals! Please, please never hesitate to send photos and stories along of the great things, the cute things, the silly things they've done/are doing.
We also would really appreciate the 1st Right of Refusal if you so choose to not continue to have your RogueWind animal on your farm any longer.
